Battle on the Teplice field without a winner

FK Teplice – FK Mladá Boleslav 2:2 (2:1)

12. 11. 2009 |

The crowd saw four goals and the points shared in a match between two of the most productive teams of the first third of Gambrinus liga. Teplice finished the match without Mareš who was sent off, however, Boleslav did not utilise the power play; on the contrary, the team had to resist the pressure of the weakened home team.

Teplice started actively but it was Fabián from the Boleslav team who wasted the first scoring opportunity when he hit the goalkeeper Grigar from an excellent shooting position. Miller saved a shot by Mareš from five metres distance five minutes later.

The goal shootout started in the 19th minute. Sylvestre got the ball from Chramosta, after he beat his defender to a high centred pass, and sent his clever shot in by the bottom left-hand post past the outstretched Grigar - 0:1. Mareš equalised three minutes later. His first time shot from the edge of the goal area hit the right-hand post before deflecting across the goal-line and into the back of the net off the goalkeeper Miller - 1:1. However Boleslav took the lead again in the 23rd minute. Chramosta demonstrated his scoring instinct inside of the Teplice penalty area beating a hapless Grigar - 1:2. The play then moved back and forth between penalty areas until the first minute of added time in the opening half when Teplice won its fifth corner. The Boleslav players needed maximum effort to defend their goal but went into the break a goal up.

The dismissal of Mareš midway through the second half was a setback for Teplice. He hit Kysela in a huddle in front of the Boleslav goal before a corner kick and the referee showed him a straight red card without hesitation. This happened three minutes after Teplice had scored the equaliser. A shot by Stožický from a long distance penetrated the defending Boleslav wall and beat the Boleslav goalkeeper - 2:2.

The weakened Teplice team soon recovered from the sending off and attacked the Boleslav goal fiercely but Miller was up to the task and defended his goal bravely, saving scoring chances by Mahmutovič, Verbíř and Klein, who was allowed by the referees to shoot from an apparent offside position in added time.

Line-up of FK Mladá Boleslav: Miller - Kalina, Janíček, Rolko, Fabián (86. Pecka) - Mendy, Sylvestre (60. Opiela), Rajnoch, Poláček (53.Kysela) - Kulič, Chramosta
