Boleslav lost Europe in the match against Sparta

The match began with little caution as both sides alternated attacks after the opening whistle. A shot by Berger just cleared the Boleslav goal in only the 3^rd minute. Janíček found Kysela behind the opponents defence with an excellent pass in the 9^th minute. Kysela took the ball on his chest and lobbed the onrushing goalkeeper Blažek but the effort was too high.

Chramosta spoiled a promising break in the 18^th minute and Šeďa saved a smashing shot by Berger after a counter-attack on the second attempt, before he courageously saving a centred pass from Pamič in front of the flying Wilfried in the 23^rd minute.

Kysela and Papadopulos failed to get off shots in front of the Sparta penalty area and a shot by Papadopulos at the end of another Boleslav attack was off target. The Sparta defence also scrambled a deflected shot from Opiela away and two corner kicks taken by Poláček amounted to nothing.

The last action of the first half was a black moment for Boleslav and decided the destiny of the match, which the head-coach Uhrin confirmed during the post-match press conference. Berger's delivery from a free kick just inside the halfway line found its way to the corner of the goal area. Šeďa hesitantly came off his line and was caught in no mans land as he changed his mind and tried to get back to goal, but it was too late. Hubník out-jumped the Boleslav defenders and headed the ball across the width of the goal towards the right-hand post - 0:1.

Boleslav rallied after the break and made a tremendous attempt to reverse the score. However they could not capitalise on their relentless pressure on the opponent's goal, and failed to create a clear-cut scoring chance and overcome the goalkeeper Blažek at least once.

Řepka ended a promising attack sliding in on Mendy, Sylvestre's imprecise pass spoiled another attack, Hubník then forced a cross-goal pass from Mendy out for a corner kick, and when Kúdela centred the ball to Chramosta on the edge of the penalty area in the 55^th minute, his clever pass set up Papadopulos for a shot at goal only to see a desperate Huber block his effort. And the goalkeeper Blažek also remained cool...

Chramosta headed the ball down for Táborský to shoot but his weak effort saw the keeper save it easily amongst a crowd in the 77^th minute.

A rocket from Berger's left foot just cleared the crossbar in the 79^th minute, however, but it was a signal of what was to come in the next five minutes as Sparta dominated. Berger found the target after a good build up by Wilfried and Žofčák in the 81^st minute to make it 0:2 before an unmarked Wilfried defeated Šeďa from ten-metres out in the 85^th minute - 0:3.
