Papadopulos From Leverkusen Will Strengthen Forward Line

Michal Papadopulos celebrated his twenty-third birthday in mid-April. However, he already has a rich career behind him at such a relatively young age. He had already shown his indisputable talent as a junior when he started to wear the first-league team shirt of Baník Ostrava before he moved upwards in Europe. He first left for Arsenal FC London in summer 2003 but he did not win Premier League recognition and returned to his former North Moravian club. At the beginning of 2006, he transferred to Leverkusen in Germany but the new club sent him to Energie Cottbus as a loan player for the spring season. Michal contributed with two goals towards the salvage of Energie in the Bundesliga.

Michal Papadopulos appeared thirty-three times in the Bundesliga and scored two goals in these matches. He appeared in fifty-one league matches in the Ostrava shirt and scored nine times for Baník. He will certainly add to his league appearances and goals as a player of Mladá Boleslav where he has signed a three-year contract. “The head-coach Hapal played the most important role in it,” disclosed Papadopulos about the negotiations, and the reasons why he preferred the offer of Mladá Boleslav to the other two. At the same time, he does not hide his desire to come into the limelight in the Mladá Boleslav shirt, and try to obtain a contract in one of the prestigious European competitions for a third time.
