Matějovský Awarded as the King of Football Pitches

Marek Matějovský has become the jubilee tenth King of Football Pitches, as three players succeeded to win twice in the thirteen years organized so far. The skipper of Mladá Boleslav appeared really in the elite company as can be seen from the list of winners so far: 1995 - Martin Frýdek (Sparta), 1996 - Karel Poborský (Slavia), 1997 - Martin Frýdek (Sparta), 1998 - Radek Slončík (Ostrava), 1999 - Radek Slončík (Ostrava), 2000 - Tomáš Rosický (Sparta), 2001 - Lukáš Jarolím (Příbram), 2002 - Václav Koloušek (Liberec), 2003 - Patrik Gedeon (Slavia), 2004 - Václav Koloušek (Slavia), 2005 - Jan Polák (Liberec), 2006 - Tomáš Zápotočný (Liberec), 2007 - Marek Matějovský (Mladá Boleslav).
The Best Eleven of the 2006/07 league season: Miller (Mladá Boleslav) - Kaufman (Teplice), Košťál (Liberec) , Rajnoch (Mladá Boleslav), Janů (Liberec) - Matějovský (Mladá Boleslav), Abraham (Mladá Boleslav), Lukeš (Ostrava) - Vlček (Slavia), Džeko (Teplice), Pecka (Mladá Boleslav). The substitute "B" squad includes also Jan Kysela from FK Mladá Boleslav who made himself visible mainly during the spring part of the season when he added five spring goals to two autumn ones and became the second best striker of Mladá Boleslav and pushed himself between the top fifteen league strikers.
Nomination in the Best Eleven is not quite new for Rajnoch and Matějovský. The stopper Rajnoch was awarded similarly in the 2004/05 season when he wore the shirt of Slovácko. The midfielder Matějovský defended his position in the Best Eleven from the preliminary season 2005/06 when the forward Kulič from FK Mladá Boleslav accompanied him among the top players. However, he moved in Sparta in this winter and did not defend his position in the best league eleven in Sparta shirt and was ranked in the reserve "B" squad according to Sport daily together with other Sparta players Došek and Matušovič.
Editors and contributors of the Sport daily award points to the first-league players for the King of Football Pitches ranking and the Best Eleven continuously for each played match. Only the players who played at least for ten minutes in the opening squad or spent as substitutes at least thirty minutes on the pitch are ranked. Their performances are awarded in the range from the worst performance for 1 point up to excellent performance for 10 points. Final ranking is determined on the basis of arithmetic average of all achieved marks.
