A streak of eighteen home matches without defeat was broken. Mladá Boleslav was defeated by Slavia Prague against which the team played short-handed without sent off Palát for seventy-five minutes. The Slavia players almost achieved a perfect revenge for spring humiliation when they conceded four goals on the pitch in Mladá Boleslav.
The players of Mladá Boleslav and their head-coach Dušan Uhrin could hardly wait for the break for national team matches in the beginning of October so that they could recover both psychically and physically after tremendous stress resulting from playing both in the league and in cups. Before it came, they suffered the first league defeat in Teplice. And they suffered also another defeat in Brno after three weeks.
From the three matches scheduled for this fall, the easiest one was the one that decided which team was going to pass to the Quarter finals next spring. The duel with Hradec Králové, a Second league team, was certainly easier than the Third league Náchod team or the Letohrad form the division. A further disappointment came from poor attendance, as the number of spectators who witnessed the match with the leading team in the league did not by much exceed one thousand. Spectator attendance was larger in both preceding rounds in Náchod and Letohrad.
The president of Mladá Boleslav football team, Mr. Josef Dufek, has received a Recognition Award for Contribution to the City of Mladá Boleslav for Sport and Youth Education as of the past office term, 2002/2006. Mr. Dufek received the award during a festive evening held on October 17th. The convention was held by the Mladá Boleslav City Hall in the representative premises of the Municipal Theatre on the occasion of closing the 2002/2006 office term. The entire corps of the City Hall councilors and other local political and public service persons attended the event as well. The Central Bohemia region Commissioner, Mr. Petr Bendl, was present as well.
Advance sale of tickets for the FK Mladá Boleslav matches with its UEFA cup Group G opposing teams starts on Tuesday, October 17th in the fan shop located in Havlickova Street. The tickets are to be sold only in a bundle for both home events, at a price of CZK 900 per bundle. The first match, FK Mladá Boleslav vs. Panathinaikos Athens FC, kicks off on Thursday, November 2nd at 8:15 pm; the other game, FK Mladá Boleslav vs. Paris Sain-Germain FC, opens on Thursday, November 30th at 8:45 pm.

Mladá Boleslav worried about three points in the match with one-sided progress till the last minute when the substitute Rajnoch scored to ensure the safe two-goal lead. Pecka scored twice and Kysela once before him. However, the players of Mladá Boleslav missed plenty of other scoring chances. The win returned Mladá Boleslav on the top of the first league standings as the last champion Slovan Liberec suffered the first defeat of this season on the pitch of Příbram.
In the 15th minute of an international encounter Czech Republic - San Marino 7:0, played in Liberec, Jankulovski hit the crossbar, Marek Kulič handled the bounced ball safely at the border of the penalty area and shot excellently.
