A Weak Opponent to Lead Match Twice, the Home Team Lucky to Get Away with a Draw

The initial quarter of an hour was a foreboding of an interesting show, for both teams started the match in a very offensive nature. The opening charge offered Slovácko a corner kick, Zeher sprinted faster than the stoppers, but his shot went way too high over Miller's crossbar. In the 9th minute Holub head-bounced the ball, unluckily for him, straight to Miller's hands. Similarly, in the 14th minute, Pecka received a nice air shot from Holub, but even from within the penalty area he only managed to aim at the goalie's legs. The 25th minute saw a long set of mistakes in the central part of the Mladá Boleslav defense line, Ivana picked up the gauntlet and prepared a nice shootout position for his teammate. Zeher did not hesitate a single second and bulleted the ball towards the upper left corner of Miller's goal - 0:1.

The home team's serenity vanished only to lose their counter attacks due to unwarranted errors. Much effort was lost until in the 40th, Rolko headed the ball to Holub, who was waiting for the shot in the vicinity of the penalty area. Holub sent the ball very low. As it caressed the grass, it landed square in the net, just next to the right-side post of the Slovácko goal - 1:1.
The draw did not last very long, though: in the last minute of the first half, Slovácko took the lead again. Racko rounded Nesvadba, making him look like a concrete dummy, and scored a nice point towards the farther post - 1:2.
The Mladá Boleslav had to bear the threatening score for the most part of the second half in spite of the constant pressure they were building on the Slovácko goal. For many minutes, the visiting team were unable to travel beyond the center line. They only managed to wedge a couple of breaking attacks, all of which were quite a sight to watch. For instance, in the 67th, the visitors' third goal was literally in the air: Zeher was approaching Miller all alone, the keeper of the goal bounced the ball off into the penalty area only to have to direct another Ivana's shot out of the pitch for a corner kick. Yet the Slovácko goalie, Drobisz, was significantly busier than his counterpart. He had to feign off several penalty kicks, constant air passes, rebound balls and ten corner kicks, which were neatly distributed in both half-times. Following the one in the 70th, Pecka headbanged the ball towards the left goal post, which was all too far for the keeper. However, Racko the backfielder took his place. A few seconds later, Kulič managed to hit the goalkeeper's arms right and straight. In the 86th, after an air pass from Poláček on the left, Rajnoch headed the ball straight between Drobisz's legs to score the equallizer - 2:2.
That moment seemed to invert the Mladá Boleslav team roster, as Rolko and Rajnoch were prowling far in the front, while Matějovský kept to the back, watching the central line. The referee imposed an overtime of five minutes, during the very last of which, Holub had the three wished-for points on the tip of his foot. He received an air pass from Poláček in the penalty area, but only managed to hit the horizontal bar, maybe owing to a slight touch by the goalkeeper.
